To often do I see students who look at current issues going on within the school and show no passion for trying to help change what they see is wrong. I am asked frequently about current events and what "I" can do about it, but I never hear from the students on what "they" can do about it. I'm not sure if everyone is, as one of my professors calls it, "On the same page", but this is our school. We as students have the responsibility to voice what concerns us; and mold our school into what we not only want it to be, but what it needs to be as well. This is not High School. "Your" money, "your" parents' money, and "your" taxes are all going to this school to pay for "your" education. For the next four years or less, this will be your home. What kind of home would you live in? We may not be "Blue Storm" for very much longer, but that doesn't change the fact that we have a commitment to our school and our school has a commitment to us. Nothing can ever be changed with out knowing the problem. Speak up we are listening.

Michael Viox
Post AITS President
SGA Senator elect
IT Major
Father and Husband

Re: The Board of Regents wants students to consider a name with the words “state college”

Test

Re: The Board of Regents wants students to consider a name with the words “state college”

The new name sounds tacky and unprofessional.

Re: Merger brings broader possibilities to students

I hope prices won't increase I dont get hope so I already have to take out student loans. Especially the part about the Church's treatment of them. I am 100% POSITIVE that Christ loves homosexuals just as much as He loves me. I also agree that homosexuality is a sin; but so is judging them and treating them with hate or even disrespect. I just LOVE it when a preacher whose belly is sticking out so far he can hardly get close enough to the pulpit to read his notes and then bangs his fist in rebuke of homosexuals. We are called to LOVE; not to judge.

Re: Student Ambassadors gain confidence through crooning

i think everyone would have an anxiety attack during public speaking. publick speaking requires a good deal of self-confidence-..

Re: September is ‘be kind to editors/writers’ month

Thanks for the reminder to "be kind to editors and writers" this month !! Not that I am looking for a place to live, but if I was - and I were so inclined as to want to live on campus - it would constitute an instance of age discrimination so far that I am concerned. An aside: I guess the 30 and over group wouldn't have any interest in an iPod.

Re: Macon State IT students visit the Georgia Academy for the Blind

This is awesome Macon State! Being GLBTQ is a choice. It's a choice to be happy with who you are. It's a choice to no longer allow society to tell you what love is. It's a choice to not hate yourself for the way you have always been. I understand that it is hard to see where GLBTQ people are coming from. But I ask that instead of trying to understand something that is a biological and chemical mystery, instead try to accept and love the people who are just trying to do what they feel is right for them. We are all equals. And equality is all we ask for.

Re: GSA:The Alliance of Gay and Straight Students

Just because GLBT isnt a choice, doesnt necessarily make it a "disease" either. The connotations that come with the word diease are that of a medical nature...that it is something that can, or should be "fixed". And neither of those are the case.

Re: Professor Thomas R.
